Details
This project is simulating the types of data collection and linkages that would be necessary to monitor the safety of medical countermeasures (MCMs - drugs and other therapies given in response to public health emergencies) within the context of Mini-Sentinel activities.
A related white paper will examine safety surveillance for drugs and vaccines administered as MCMs outside of the traditional healthcare setting through local health department run or coordinated points of dispensing (PODs). The white paper will examine the processes and systems for dispensing MCMs via PODs, the need for improved capabilities to electronically collect data on individuals receiving MCMs at PODs, and the opportunity to use Mini-Sentinel capabilities, tools, and resources for improving safety surveillance for these MCMs.
