Types of Events
There are many events that support the Sentinel Initiative and maintain a strong community connection:
- Announcements
- Conferences
- Meetings
- Trainings
- Webinars
- Workshops
Each year, FDA partners with the Duke Margolis Center for Health Policy to host the Annual Sentinel Initiative Public Workshop. This workshop features perspectives from FDA leadership about the progress and direction of the Sentinel Initiative. It is also an important forum for FDA to engage with the community. Speakers are invited from academia, patient advocacy organizations, regulated industry, and others to discuss important topics to help shape the future of the Sentinel Initiative.
FDA also hosts webinars and training activities on a variety of topics, which are often recorded to widen participation. These trainings can occur with the Annual Sentinel Public Workshop or as separate events. FDA also engages the scientific community at professional conferences to share advances in methods and results from studies conducted in the Sentinel System.
