The Sentinel Innovation Center has released a Request for Proposal (RFP) to enhance the Innovation Center strategic priority area of Feature Engineering entitled “Enhancing the validity of pharmacoepidemiology studies through the inclusion of semi-structured and unstructured electronic health record (EHR) data in confounding adjustment and outcome ascertainment.”
This RFP solicits proposals that intend to build a semi-automated system that uses advanced methods and tools, including natural language processing, to enable large-scale outcome identification, confounder feature extraction, and longitudinal contextualization of EHR data. The proposed project will demonstrate how unstructured EHR data could help improve the validity of population-based pharmacoepidemiologic studies within linked health care claims and EHR data environments.
