Electronic Health Record (EHR) Enhanced Signal Detection Using Tree-Based Scan Statistic Methods

Tree-based scan statistics (TBSS) detect suspected and unexpected adverse effects of medical products by screening hierarchically related outcomes, but have rarely used the clinical depth of EHR data. This poster proposes a generalization of TBSS that allows the analysis of structured and unstructured EHR data. It was presented at the 2025 ISPE Annual Meeting.
