The overall mission of the Innovation Center is to integrate longtitudial patient-level EHR data into the Sentinel System to enable in-depth investigations of medication outcomes using richer clinical data that are generally not available in insurance claims data. The Master Plan, initially developed in 2019 and updated annually, lays out a five-yeear roadmap for the Sentinel Innovation Center to achieve this vision though our four key strategic areas: (1) data infrastructure; (2) feature engineering; (3) casual inference; and (4) detection analytics. The projects focus on utilizing emerging technologies including feature engineering, natural language processing, advanced analytics, and data interoperability to improve Sentinel's capabilities.
