    Description

This presentation discusses a joint agency project involving the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and National Institutes of Health/ National Library of Medicine (NIH/NLM) that addresses the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research (PCOR) priority to expand data capacity or data infrastructure for conducting research that informs decisions about the effectiveness of health interventions used in the Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance Programs. The Transformed Medicaid Statistical Information System (T-MSIS) data in Common Data Model (CDM) format were developed for this project to improve data access, accelerate analyses, and enable multi-database studies through freely available code to format T-MSIS data into FDA Sentinel and Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership (OMOP) CDMs. It also reviews Sentinel's T-MSIS mother-infant linkage in Sentinel Common Data Model (SCDM) format to support analyses on maternal and infant health.

It was presented at the Maternal Health Consortium on January 17, 2023 and at the Office of the Secretary Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Trust Fund (OS-PCORTF) Webinar: T-MSIS Transformation into the Sentinel Common Data Model on January 23, 2023.
