Overview, Considerations, and Challenges in Integrating Structured and Unstructured Electronic Health Record Data into Common Data Models

• An important goal of the Sentinel Innovation Center is to incorporate electronic health record (EHR) data into Sentinel’s routine analytic framework. Careful consideration is need to determine how to represent these data within a common data model (CDM). This webinar will focus on CDMs that are currently in use and coverage of EHR data across existing CDMs, with emphasis on how natural language processing tools and unstructured data can be incorporated. The session will also discuss challenges and opportunities for accepting source data within existing CDMs.
