Description
Health technology assessment (HTA) bodies like NICE produce evidence-based recommendations that guide decisions in health, public health and social care. Real-world evidence (RWE) has great potential to resolve uncertainties in HTA and improve patient access to effective interventions. Currently the use, acceptability, and quality of real-world evidence studies by HTA bodies like NICE varies significantly. In this presentation, Seamus provided an overview of the opportunities and challenges of RWE in HTA and introduce NICE’s real-world evidence framework which is designed to improve the quality and transparency of the evidence generated and ensure consistency in its evaluation.
