Characterization of Influenza Complications Among Individuals Diagnosed with Influenza-Like Illness in Outpatient, Ambulatory, and Emergency Department Settings: A Descriptive Analysis

In this request, we examined "ordinal" endpoints related to influenza (i.e., select complications of influenza, of increasing severity) among specific cohorts in the Sentinel Distributed Database (SDD). Reports 1-3 identify influenza-like illness (ILI) cohorts only and include data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Reports 4-6 include ILI, pneumonia and influenza (P&I), and medically attended acute respiratory illness (MAARI) cohorts, and do not include CMS data. This request was distributed to Sentinel Data Partners (DP) on October 7, 2019.
